This conference invites a global and interdisciplinary dialogue on sustainable forest management, expanding beyond traditional timber-focused approaches to integrate ecosystem services and nature-based solutions. Forests provide essential ecological functions alongside economic outputs, requiring careful analysis of trade-offs and synergies. The event will bring together diverse stakeholders to explore scientific, technical, and market-based strategies such as carbon credits and ecosystem service payments. Discussions will be grounded on quantitative analyses and the best available science across forest biometrics, silviculture, planning, and economics. Researchers, professionals, and students worldwide are encouraged to participate, with sessions offered in English (primary language of the conference), Spanish, Portuguese and French.
As expectations for carbon credit quality and integrity continue to rise, ARR project developers face increasing challenges in interpreting and applying eligibility criteria in complex ecosystems such as savannas. This workshop offers a practical, GIS-based methodology.

The site enjoys an average temperature of 16 °C and is surrounded by gardens, providing an ideal environment to engage in educational activities.

Accommodation is included from Monday to Friday, with breakfast served each morning from Tuesday to Friday. Check-in begins at 3:00 pm on Monday, and check-out is no later than 12:00 pm on Friday.
